Interactive image reveals for Joomla module headers
Backend reveal header creates a Joomla module header that reveals one image over another as a visitor moves a pointer or touches the screen.
This is the sort of visual treatment sites use for campaign headers, portfolios, product presentations or other image-led landing pages. Joomla core already covers the surrounding structure: a Custom module can hold images, text and links, while module positions and menu assignment control where and when that content appears. Core does not provide an interactive image mask, pointer trail, touch response or animated reveal. A template override can change a module's markup, and custom CSS and JavaScript can implement the effect, but that requires development work. This extension packages that behaviour as a configurable module rather than adding a new core content type.
It is aimed at a site owner, designer or agency building a deliberately visual header and willing to supply two images and a suitable module position. The listed controls include reveal shapes, edge softness, shadows and motion options, while the Joomla editor handles the accompanying content. A conventional business site, blog or documentation site that only needs a static image, text and button has little reason to install it.
The listing marks Backend reveal header as a paid download by Dominik Lehner in the Design section. It says the source is GPL-2.0-or-later and lists Joomla 5.4 and 6.x support, but gives no price. The directory shows two other extensions from the developer and no reviews for this one. Before buying, check the download-key terms, renewal or update arrangements, browser and mobile performance, accessibility of the effect, and how the reduced-motion presentation behaves in practice. The listing does not provide those details, and we have not tested the extension.
