ContentSync mirrors Joomla articles between sites
ContentSync is a Joomill scheduled task that copies articles and related content from one Joomla site to another.
This problem arises when one organisation publishes the same material across separate Joomla installations: a main site and regional sites, a public site and a members' site, or staging and production. Joomla core provides the pieces around the problem, including articles, categories, tags, custom fields, the Web Services API and Scheduled Tasks. It does not provide a built-in job for fetching articles from another Joomla site, mapping records between databases and keeping the copies aligned. A template override cannot solve that data-transfer problem. ContentSync goes beyond core by using the API from a scheduled task, with one-way updates, deletion handling, field mappings, media downloads and a dry-run mode, according to the listing.
This is aimed at teams maintaining more than one Joomla installation while wanting one editorial source of truth. It may also suit a site migration or a controlled publishing network, provided the target site's local categories, users, access levels and custom fields are prepared. A single-site publisher, or a team happy to copy occasional articles manually, has little reason to add it.
Before installing, check the listing carefully: it does not state whether ContentSync is free or paid, nor does it state the extension's overall Joomla compatibility. It mentions Joomla 6.2 or newer on the source for workflow-stage and Schema.org options. The listing shows Joomill as the developer, 25 other extensions and no reviews. Also verify API-token permissions, allowed media paths and file-size limits, the consequences of overwriting or removing target articles, and whether the one-way model matches your editorial process. Custom fields must be created on the target first.
