CS SiteGround Cache removes Joomla’s cache blockers on SiteGround

CS SiteGround Cache is a Joomla plugin that prepares eligible public pages for caching by SiteGround’s reverse proxy.

Joomla sites create sessions and send no-cache instructions in situations where SiteGround’s hosting cache will then bypass the page. Joomla already includes cache settings and a page-cache plugin, but those operate within Joomla and do not by themselves make SiteGround’s separate reverse-proxy cache accept every anonymous response. A template override is not a practical general fix for response cookies and headers. This plugin goes beyond core by changing those response conditions, excluding pages containing detected forms, and coordinating cache purges after content and configuration changes, according to the listing.

The intended audience is a site hosted on SiteGround where public pages are being served dynamically despite being suitable for anonymous caching. It may also interest administrators who want cache status, purge controls and logging in Joomla’s backend. A site on another host has no use for it: the listing says the SiteGround caching daemon is required, and the plugin only displays a notice elsewhere. Sites whose pages are mostly personalised or logged-in also have less to gain.

Before installing, note that this is a free download with no Pro version, licensed under GPL-2.0-or-later. The developer is Cybersalt; the Performance listing shows two other extensions from that developer and no reviews. The entry specifies Joomla 5 and 6 and PHP 8.1+, but does not spell out supported SiteGround plans, all form-detection rules, cache exclusions, or how it behaves alongside other caching, security and cookie extensions. Test those combinations on a staging copy, and check the documentation and changelog before enabling it on production.
