Provider-level cookie consent for Joomla 6
DLS Cookie Consent Lite is a free Joomla 6 extension for asking visitors to allow or refuse individual third-party providers before their resources load.
In practical terms, it displays a cookie-consent banner and settings dialog, then blocks selected providers' scripts, iframes and other resources until the visitor agrees. According to the listing, it also supports withdrawing consent, removing provider storage, and exposing JavaScript and PHP APIs for site code.
This job exists because Joomla core is not a general, provider-by-provider cookie banner or consent-management gate. Joomla includes privacy and consent-related tools for areas such as forms and user data, but a site embedding analytics, video, maps or advertising services still has to control those resources separately. A simple site may handle the notice and script loading manually; a template override can change presentation but cannot by itself enforce server-side blocking. Sites needing a fuller consent workflow usually add an extension. The developer says this one goes beyond a visual banner with a Content Security Policy network gate, withdrawal cleanup and per-provider choices.
It is aimed at Joomla 6 sites that embed optional external services and need consent decisions separated by provider, especially where administrators or developers want an API rather than editing every embed. A site with no third-party resources, or one content with a basic manually managed notice, has little reason to install it.
Before installing, note that the directory lists the Lite edition as a free download; the more configurable Pro edition is separate, but the listing does not state its price. Dominik Lehner has nine other extensions shown in the directory, while this listing has no reviews. We have not tested the software. Check the documentation, exact provider configuration, update behaviour, and whether its server rules suit your cache, CDN and consent requirements. The listing states Joomla 6 compatibility but leaves broader version support, Pro pricing and independent test evidence unanswered.
