JC Maintenance adds secret-link previews to Joomla offline mode

Joomla sites need this during redesigns, updates, extension testing and client reviews: the public should see an offline page, while developers or testers still need to inspect the frontend. Joomla core already provides offline mode through Global Configuration, with an offline message, image and login option; users granted offline access can be allowed in through the normal Joomla authentication flow. A template override or custom template can change the appearance of that page.

According to the listing, JC Maintenance goes beyond those core tools by adding a configurable maintenance page with optional branding, contact details and social links, plus secret-key-based frontend access, temporary sessions, and login and logout controls. The listing says it integrates with Joomla's offline mode and does not modify core files, but we have not tested those claims.

It is aimed at administrators, freelancers, agencies and QA teams working on live Joomla sites, particularly where clients need to review unfinished work without repeatedly switching the site online. A simple brochure site that rarely enters maintenance mode, or a team comfortable using Joomla's built-in offline access and a template override, may have no reason to install it.

JC Maintenance is listed in the Directory's offline section and is developed by Abdulgani Tumbi. The listing does not state whether it is free or paid, which Joomla versions it supports, how the secret URL is protected against sharing or guessing, or whether access can be revoked per person. The developer has seven other directory listings; this entry currently shows zero reviews.
