JoomION Dateien Upload routes member files to administrators

This need appears on membership sites, customer portals and internal project areas where people must submit documents or media without receiving Joomla administrator access. Joomla core already provides administrator-side media management, access control and upload-related configuration, but it is not a general-purpose, per-user submission area with a frontend module, quotas and an administrative file list. A template override can change the presentation of an existing form; it does not by itself provide this complete workflow. The listing says this extension adds that missing frontend-to-backend path.

According to the listing, uploads are limited to named image, MP4, document and spreadsheet types, with checks based on file signatures and additional validation for Office files. It also claims separate storage by user and day, configurable hourly attempts and per-user storage quotas, restricted administrator access, optional email notifications, and Joomla ACL controls.

It is aimed at sites with registered users who need to submit files for staff review: associations, client areas, schools or private team portals. A brochure site, blog, shop with no member upload process, or site accepting only administrator-managed media has little reason to install it. Anonymous uploads are explicitly outside its scope.

The listing marks it as free software under GPL v2 or later and says it targets Joomla 5 and 6. JoomION has five other directory listings, while this entry shows no reviews. Before installing, check the documentation for maximum individual file size, quota defaults, moderation behaviour, storage-path handling, privacy and virus-scanning provisions, and whether the claimed protections match your hosting setup.
