A frontend and dashboard view for Joomla article hits
JoomION Page Views shows Joomla article hit counts in a frontend module and an administrator-dashboard tile.
Joomla already records a hits value for articles and exposes that value in administrator article management. That is useful for a rough indication of activity, but core does not provide a dedicated frontend module or dashboard tile for an all-articles total. A developer can expose the value with a template override or custom module, while sites wanting a broader reporting interface generally use an extension. This is a display layer for the counts Joomla already stores, not an analytics system: hit counts are not the same as unique visitors or page-view tracking.
According to the listing, the extension goes beyond core by aggregating published-article hits, optionally separating homepage content from other content, and providing frontend and administrator modules with configurable labels, icons, alignment and styling. It is aimed at editorial teams, intranets and content sites that want a small, visible activity figure without adding tracking or another data store. Sites that need visitors, sessions, referrers, conversions or privacy-oriented analytics have no obvious use for it.
The listing describes JoomION Page Views as free GPL v2+ software for Joomla 5 and 6. JoomION has eight other directory listings, while this listing has no reviews. Before installation, check how hits are incremented and aggregated, how caching and access permissions affect the figures, whether counts can be reset, and how the dashboard tile is configured. The listing does not explain those details, and we have not tested the extension.
