Privatus Analytics adds cookieless tracking to Joomla

Privatus Analytics is a free Joomla plugin that loads the service’s cookieless analytics script on a site frontend.

Its job is to add the Privatus Analytics tracking script to Joomla pages.

Sites need this when their owners want traffic, page, conversion or behaviour data without building reporting themselves. Joomla core does not provide a general web analytics service or dashboard. An administrator can add a script manually through a template, custom HTML module or custom plugin, but that leaves configuration and exclusions to the site team. A template override is generally the wrong tool because analytics code is not a component output change. A third-party extension is the usual route when the site needs an administrator-facing configuration screen.

According to the listing, this plugin goes beyond simply inserting a script by exposing settings for tracker modules, excluded paths, allowed domains, single-page applications, logged-in users and selected user groups. It also loads on the frontend only and uses Joomla’s update system. The listing says the service uses no cookies, local storage or fingerprinting, but legal obligations still depend on the site and jurisdiction.

  • It is aimed at site owners who want Privatus Analytics reports and prefer a Joomla configuration rather than editing templates or code.
  • Sites that do not need visitor measurement, already use another analytics integration, or require a self-hosted analytics system have little reason to install it.

The directory marks it as a free download, and the developer says a permanent free service plan is available. It requires a Privatus Analytics account and loads https://privatusstats.com/js/pa.js. The listing shows no reviews, so it offers little evidence of the developer’s directory track record. Before installation, check the service’s data handling, account terms, support arrangements, consent position and what happens if the hosted script changes. The listing does not explain those operational details.
