Pucks adds hockey league records beyond Joomla core
Pucks is a paid Joomla package for recording and publishing the teams, players, fixtures, results and statistics of a hockey league.
Joomla core can publish articles, menus and category-based content, and its custom fields can add structured details to ordinary records. It does not provide a hockey league's connected data model: teams linked to players and rosters, games linked to schedules and scores, or standings and player statistics calculated or presented as sports tables. A team could build those pages with articles and custom fields, then use template overrides to control the presentation, but maintaining the relationships and repeated layouts would be manual. A general sports or league extension is the usual alternative. According to the listing, Pucks goes beyond core by supplying a component and seven named modules for teams, schedules, scores, standings, statistics, game spotlights and roster displays.
This is aimed at a hockey club, league, tournament organiser or agency building a site for a professional, semi-professional, amateur or youth organisation. It may also suit a team that needs public schedules and results rather than a general content site. A blog, business site, one-off event page or small club that only needs occasional announcements has little reason to install it.
Before installing, note that the listing marks it as a paid download and says it supports Joomla 5 and Joomla 6. Trey Braid is shown with seven other directory extensions, but this listing has no reviews. The directory also says support documentation is not available. The listing does not explain the price, licensing terms beyond GPLv2 or later, import options, permissions, upgrade path, data export, or how standings and statistics are calculated. Those points, along with the actual module layouts and support arrangements, need checking before committing league data.
