Recurring day-and-month articles with BSL Daily Content

BSL Daily Content adds a recurring calendar layer to Joomla articles, for sites publishing material that returns on the same day and month each year.

It assigns a recurring DD-MM date to each Joomla article and displays the matching entry for a selected date or as today's content.

This matters because Joomla's built-in article dates describe publication and lifecycle events: creation, modification, start, and finish dates. They include a year, so they are not a natural way to represent an entry such as 25 December that should recur annually. Joomla custom fields can store a day and month, but core does not use such a field to select an article and build a date-navigation page. A template override could change presentation, but the recurring lookup, navigation, language handling, and article links would still need custom code. The developer says this plugin goes beyond core by providing that date field, calendar page, today's-content module output, and duplicate-date checking within a category, while leaving each entry as a normal article.

It is aimed at sites maintaining a sizeable calendar of reflections, quotations, anniversaries, recipes, holidays, or similar entries, particularly teams that want separate article permissions, categories, languages, and JComments discussions. A site with ordinary news, evergreen pages, or only occasional date-based posts has little reason to install it.

The listing marks it free and names BSL-Alexander.V as the developer. It shows no reviews and one other extension in the directory, so there is limited directory history to assess. Before installing, check the documentation and support arrangements, confirm the stated Joomla 5 or 6 and PHP 8.3-or-later requirements, and clarify how edge cases such as leap-day content, migrations, updates, and the two-language limit are handled. The listing does not provide those details.
