WT IndexNow package brings IndexNow submissions to Joomla
The WT IndexNow package lets Joomla sites submit new or changed URLs to participating search engines manually or automatically, helping them request faster indexing without relying on Google, which does not support the protocol.
IndexNow is designed to notify search engines about URLs that should be indexed for the first time or reindexed after changes. According to the package information, participating search engines exchange data, meaning a URL submitted to one service is communicated to the others.
The protocol is supported by Amazon, Microsoft Bing, Naver, Seznam.cz, Yandex and Yep. Google is not supported. IndexNow allows up to 10,000 URL submissions per day.
Joomla integrations
WT IndexNow can work with Joomla articles and article categories, as well as contacts and contact categories. It also supports the following third-party extensions:
- SW JProjects
- JoomShopping
- Phoca Download
- Phoca Cart
- RadicalMart
These integrations cover extension directories, file catalogues and online stores. The package supports Joomla 4.3 and later, and has been tested with Joomla 5 and Joomla 6.
Manual submissions are available alongside automatic URL handling. The extension's source code is published on GitHub, while its project page is hosted by WebTolk.
