Joomla 5.4.10 closes the 5.x bugfix phase
Joomla 5.4.10 is the final bugfix release for the 5.x series, so administrators should apply it before the branch moves to security-only maintenance.
The Joomla project says 5.4.10 ends bugfix updates for Joomla 5.4. The version will continue receiving security updates for one more year, but routine corrections will no longer be added. This makes the release an important maintenance point for sites that remain on the 5.x branch.
The update contains six fixes affecting administration, APIs and content display:
- Corrected a debug language parsing error.
- Improved the display of less-than and greater-than characters in username validation errors.
- Fixed webservice PATCH calls.
- Prevented dates from shifting by the timezone offset during API PATCH requests, including the reported AI-related case.
- Fixed the sidebar title toggle.
- Ensured category access and publication status are respected when displaying banners.
Existing sites can use the update package, while new installations can use the full package. The Joomla project also points developers and maintainers to the complete change list on GitHub and provides downloads through its official CMS download page.
