Airwallex checkout payments for HikaShop stores

The extension sends customers from HikaShop to an Airwallex-hosted payment page, then uses the return visit and Airwallex webhooks to update the order. According to the listing, it also supports refunds triggered by moving an order to a refunded status and can run against an Airwallex sandbox account.

This job exists because Joomla itself does not provide an online-shop checkout or payment processor. HikaShop supplies the shop and payment-method framework, but a gateway connection normally comes from a payment plugin. A site can build its own integration, but that means handling API credentials, payment callbacks, verification and refund states; a template override would only change presentation, not process payments. The developer says this plugin goes beyond a basic card gateway by supporting Airwallex's hosted checkout, local payment methods, signed webhooks, delayed confirmation and payment lookups.

It is aimed at a HikaShop shop whose business already has, or wants, an Airwallex account and sells across markets where Airwallex's listed methods are relevant. A Joomla site without HikaShop, an Airwallex account or online payments has no practical use for it.

Before installing, note that this is a paid download, although the listing gives no price. The developer is Hikari Software Team; the directory shows 85 other extensions, but this listing has no reviews. It says an internet-reachable site, API credentials and webhook secret are required, and lists PHP 7.4 minimum plus Joomla 4, 5 and 6 compatibility. Documentation is marked unavailable.
