Articirra Cache Rules links Joomla cache clearing to events

Joomla sites that depend on caching still need a way to reflect content changes without relying entirely on manual maintenance.

Articirra Cache Rules clears selected Joomla cache groups when configured events, such as saving an article or changing a module, occur.

This problem arises because cached pages and module output can remain available after the underlying content changes. Joomla core provides cache configuration, its cache API and administrator tools for clearing caches, including the cache-management screen. A site can also use normal core and extension invalidation where supported. For more specific workflows, administrators generally clear caches manually, adjust cache settings, or install an extension. A template override changes rendered markup, not the cache-clearing process. According to the listing, this extension goes beyond core by tying separate rules to built-in triggers, selected cache groups and site or administrator cache locations.

It is aimed at content-heavy or frequently updated sites where editors, administrators or integrations need predictable cache invalidation without a scheduled job. Teams managing several cache locations may also find the rule model relevant. A small, mostly static site that rarely caches output, or one where manual clearing is sufficient, has little reason to install it.

Articirra Cache Rules is a free download from Jouweb Agency and is listed in the Directory's Performance section. The developer says it supports Joomla 5 and 6. The directory lists two other extensions from Jouweb Agency, but this listing has no reviews. Before installation, check the documented event coverage, the cache backend's ability to enumerate groups, and whether any private, hosting, browser or CDN caches also need separate handling. The listing does not establish the performance impact, detailed behavior for every cache backend, or how a third-party extension's custom events are dispatched.
