A Joomla module for displaying bookmaker overround statistics

Bookmaker margin data is useful when a site needs to explain the built-in cost of betting markets, compare market types, or publish sports statistics. Joomla core can place a module in a template position and can display fixed text or tables through articles, custom HTML, fields and layouts. It does not, by itself, download a remote CSV, select the latest data, calculate or present summary values, and refresh a cached result on a schedule. A site could handle that with custom PHP and a template or module override, but a specialist extension is the more direct route for teams that do not want to maintain that integration.

According to the listing, this module retrieves the open Bet Better margin-index CSV, caches it, and renders mean and median percentages by market type, with an optional bookmaker count and credit line. Those are claims from the developer; we have not tested the software.

It is aimed at sports-analytics publishers, statistics teachers, consumer-information sites and betting-market explainers that want current figures without building a data import. A normal company site, sports club site or betting site that does not publish margin analysis has little reason to install it.

The listing identifies Edward Glush as the developer and places the extension in the Directory’s Sports section. It is a free download under GPLv2 or later, and the listing says it is written for Joomla 4 and 5 and tested on Joomla 5.4. The directory shows zero reviews for this listing and provides no broader track-record information. Before installing, check how failed or changed CSV data is handled, whether the output can be styled or overridden, and what happens when the remote file is unavailable. Confirm that the attribution requirement suits your site and review the extension’s update and support arrangements.
