Joomla module puts an age check before site access

Ideal Age Gate places an age-confirmation screen in front of a Joomla site and either admits or turns away the visitor based on a yes/no answer or date of birth.

This job comes up when a site publishes or sells alcohol, tobacco, CBD, adult material or gambling-related content, and wants a visible self-declaration step before access. Joomla core provides user accounts, access levels and module positions, but it has no built-in age-verification gate. A site can approximate one with custom JavaScript or a template override, although that leaves the form, storage, refusal path and multilingual text to the site team. An extension is the usual route when those pieces need to be configured rather than built.
