Manual approval before Joomla accounts can activate
Easy User Approval holds new Joomla registrations until an authorised person approves or rejects each account.
This addresses a gap that appears on sites where registration is open but membership is not automatic. Joomla already provides account activation settings, including administrator activation, and can send the relevant notifications. That is enough for a basic “an administrator must activate this account” workflow. A template override can change registration or notification presentation, but it cannot sensibly add the approval process itself.
According to the listing, Easy User Approval goes further by providing a review queue, approval links in email, decisions from the Users list, required rejection reasons, configurable user groups and domain-based placement. It also claims an audit log, optional non-user approvers, and digest emails. Those are workflow and record-keeping features rather than changes to Joomla’s registration form.
It is aimed at clubs, schools, membership organisations and client sites where a named person or team checks applicants before access is granted. A site that allows anyone to register immediately, or one already using Joomla’s administrator activation without needing a queue, multiple approval channels or a decision history, may have no reason to add it.
