Media Audit Pro scans broken links and unused files

Media Audit Pro is a paid Joomla extension for auditing broken internal links, missing media references, and media files that may no longer be used.

Its job is to scan Joomla content and selected extension data for broken internal links, missing images or files, and media that appears to have no current reference.

This problem arises as sites are edited over time: articles move, filenames change, and extensions store media references in different database tables. Joomla core gives administrators the Media Manager for browsing and deleting files, plus normal editing tools for correcting links. It does not provide a general broken-link crawler, a cross-extension unused-media audit, or a built-in workflow for recording fixes and rechecking them. A template override is not normally the answer; teams either inspect content manually, write a site-specific script or query, or install an auditing extension. According to the listing, Media Audit Pro goes beyond core with link checks, usage analysis through extension-specific Analyzers, reversible trash and restore, and a no-code Analyzer Builder.

That makes it relevant to larger, long-lived Joomla sites with substantial media libraries, frequent content changes, or third-party extensions whose asset usage needs checking. Agencies maintaining several sites may also care about exportable Analyzer plugins. A small site with few articles and a readily understood Media Manager library is unlikely to need it.

It is listed as a paid download from incolor, under the Media Audit Pro directory section. The listing shows one other extension from the developer and no reviews. Before installing, check the price, what support and updates cover after the stated one-year period, backup requirements, scan performance on a large database, and exactly which third-party extensions and media-reference formats the Analyzers handle. The listing says it supports Joomla 4, 5 and 6, but does not explain licensing limits beyond three websites or provide independent test results.
