SimpleHub groups Joomla administrator shortcuts

Joomla sites often accumulate different admin entry points: components for site functions, module and plugin settings, article editing, and occasionally external tools. Core Joomla already provides an administrator menu, dashboard pages and dashboard modules, so a team can organise some of this through menu entries and administrator dashboard customisation. A template override is not usually the practical answer, because the requirement concerns configurable admin links rather than front-end markup.

SimpleHub goes beyond those core tools by putting five destination types—components, plugins, modules, articles and external URLs—into named groups with drag-and-drop ordering. According to the listing, it also detects icons, marks links to disabled extensions, and can add a title-bar shortcut throughout the administrator. Those are claims from the developer; we have not tested the extension.

This is aimed at agencies, site managers and larger editorial or operational teams that repeatedly move between many administrator screens, especially where different users need a shared navigation arrangement. A small site with only a few components, or a single administrator who already uses Joomla’s core menu and dashboard, may have little reason to add it.

• The directory marks it as a free download under GPLv2 or later and lists Joomla 5 and 6 compatibility.
• The developer is Ad Stam. The page shows two other extensions, but SimpleHub has no reviews there.
• The listing does not explain access-control behaviour, import or export options, support terms, or how all destination types behave under different administrator permissions.
