Speedy Translate Lite stores Joomla translations in one record

Speedy Translate Lite takes a single-record approach to multilingual Joomla content, adding translation tools and machine-translation connections for Joomla 6 sites.

It lets editors store translations for Joomla content and interface strings from the existing administrator edit forms.

Multilingual sites need this because Joomla's standard workflow normally involves publishing content languages, enabling the Language Filter, creating separate language versions of articles and other items, and linking those versions with Multilingual Associations. Core also provides a language switcher and can output language metadata such as hreflang when configured. A template override can change the switcher's presentation, but it does not replace that content workflow. According to the listing, Speedy Translate Lite goes beyond core by keeping translations with one item in its “Speedy mode”, offering field-level translation status and outdated flags, translated aliases, and connections to Google, DeepL or Yandex for on-demand machine translation. It can also create Joomla's conventional associated copies instead.

This is aimed at teams maintaining a sizeable multilingual Joomla 6 site, especially where editors want one form for articles, menus, modules, custom fields and supported third-party content. A monolingual site, or a small site comfortable maintaining separate language copies manually, has little reason to install it.

The download is listed as free, with the developer charging nothing for machine translation; provider charges and accounts remain the site's responsibility. Solid Labs is listed with eight other directory extensions, but this listing has no reviews. Check the stated Joomla 6.0+, PHP 8.3+ and MySQL/MariaDB requirements, PostgreSQL exclusion, provider handling and third-party adapter coverage before installing. The page gives conflicting licence metadata: the description says GPLv3 or later, while the directory field says GPLv2 or later. It also leaves real-world compatibility and migration results unverified.
