Domain per Language maps Joomla languages to separate domains

Domain per Language lets one Joomla installation serve different content languages from separate domains such as example.nl and example.de.

Domain per Language is a system plugin that maps each Joomla content language to a configured domain.

This job arises when a multilingual site wants country-specific addresses rather than paths such as example.com/nl. Joomla core already handles multilingual articles, menus, associations, language filtering, language switching and search-engine metadata for language-specific pages. Its normal URL structure does not, however, turn each language into a separate domain. A template override cannot solve that routing problem cleanly; the usual alternatives are server-level arrangements, multiple Joomla installations, or an extension. According to the listing, this plugin adds domain-based routing, redirects, domain-specific canonical and hreflang links, per-domain robots.txt rules and optional cross-domain login handoff.

It is aimed at organisations with a single multilingual site that operate country or language domains while wanting one database and one administration area. Teams publishing in several markets, with control over DNS, HTTPS certificates and hosting, are the likely audience. A monolingual site, or a multilingual site content with language-code paths, has no obvious reason to install it.

The extension is free, GPLv3-or-later software in the Directory’s “multi lingual content” section. The listing identifies Joomill as the developer, with 24 other extensions listed and no reviews for this product. It specifies Joomla 6 and PHP 8.3 or later, but leaves questions about compatibility with third-party URL builders, caching or CDN setups, migration from existing language URLs, and the practical support available. Check the hosting and DNS work separately before installation; the listing makes clear that this is not handled by the plugin.
