TF Table turns Joomla data into HTML tables

TF Table is aimed at Joomla sites that need structured records presented to visitors without hand-building each table.

TF Table displays records from a selected Joomla database table, or entries stored in a Subform custom field, as rows and columns.

This need arises when a site has repeatable or structured data that visitors need to scan: specifications, schedules, directories, prices, or inventories. Joomla core provides custom fields, including the Subform field for repeatable groups of values, and those values can be rendered through field layouts and template overrides. An editor can also create a one-off table in an article using HTML. Core does not, however, provide a general-purpose field plugin that turns arbitrary database-table records into a configured table. According to the listing, TF Table goes beyond core by reading a specified database table and formatting either that data or Subform entries as a reusable table in supported content and custom-field display contexts.

It is therefore aimed at site builders and developers maintaining directories, catalogues, technical documentation, staff listings, or other sites with structured data. A conventional brochure site with mostly prose articles and occasional hand-written tables is unlikely to need it.

  • The listing marks it as a free download, licensed under GPLv2 or later, and lists Joomla 5 and 6 compatibility.
  • Joomla Fry is listed with 33 other extensions in the directory; that is a directory count, not evidence of quality or support history.
  • Before installing, check the supported configuration options, query restrictions, permissions, output styling, sorting and pagination, and how safely arbitrary table data is exposed. The listing provides no documentation and does not explain those details or the exact display contexts.
