Joomla wins two CMS Critic Awards in 2025
Joomla has won two categories in the CMS Critic Awards People's Choice Awards 2025, taking the titles of Best Free CMS and Best Open Source CMS.
The awards recognize achievements across the CMS community, including innovation and service from developers. The 2025 results give Joomla recognition in both a free-software category and an open-source category.
How the awards are decided
The annual process begins with CMS nominations at the end of December and continues through January. The nominees are then narrowed to a top five, with voting taking place during February.

CMS Critic has presented the awards since 2012. The results are intended to reflect the technology, activity and cohesion of the communities surrounding each CMS, making the recognition relevant beyond the individual product categories.
