AI-assisted accessibility fixes for Joomla content

Accessibility problems arise because site content is edited by many people, while templates and older articles often introduce missing alt text, vague links, bad heading structures or inaccessible tables. Joomla already lets editors add image alternatives, labels and structured content through its editing tools, and the listing says the CMS includes Sa11y for checking rendered pages. Template overrides remain the usual route when the defect is in markup produced by a template or extension rather than in stored content.

The developer says JS Accessibility Fixer goes beyond those separate tools by collecting issues from articles, Custom modules and menu item titles, alongside Sa11y results. It can suggest replacement alt text and link wording through Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini or OpenAI, with the site's own API key. Accepted changes are limited to the selected content and are versioned for undo, while the listing says scans and manually written fixes do not require AI.

This is aimed at editorial teams managing a large or long-established Joomla site, particularly where accessibility checks need to become part of publishing. A small site with carefully maintained content, a developer already auditing templates manually, or a site that does not want external AI services has less reason to install it. It is not a legal or standards certification tool.

The extension is a free download in the Directory's accessibility section, but AI providers may charge separately; the listing mentions 20 AI suggestions per month without stating whether the extension itself has other limits. Joom Sky has two other listed extensions, and this product has no reviews. Documentation is listed as unavailable. Before installation, check how API keys and submitted content are handled, and confirm the stated Joomla 5 and 6 support against your site.
