CMSPatrol Integrity watches Joomla files for unexpected changes

CMSPatrol Integrity compares a Joomla site's files with a trusted baseline to flag additions, changes and deletions.

File-integrity monitoring matters because a compromised site, a faulty deployment or an untracked manual change can alter files without immediately breaking the front end. Joomla core provides update management, extension and template installation, and update notifications; it does not maintain a general checksum baseline of the whole installation and report every unexpected file change. A template override can control presentation changes, but it is not a security-monitoring solution. Administrators otherwise use shell tools, hosting security services, manual comparisons or a dedicated extension.

According to the listing, CMSPatrol Integrity goes beyond those core tools by recording a baseline and checking for new, modified or deleted files, with additional malware and vulnerability checks and review reports. Those are developer claims; we have not tested the extension. It is listed in the Directory's site security section and marked as a paid download, although the description also says a free version is available.

This is aimed at site owners, agencies and administrators responsible for several Joomla installations or sites where change auditing matters. A small, rarely changed brochure site with reliable hosting scans and a simple backup routine may have little reason to add it. The listing shows compatibility with Joomla 5 and 6, but not the exact boundaries of the free version, pricing, alert channels, scan schedule, performance impact, baseline storage or how findings can be remediated. Documentation is listed as unavailable, and the directory shows no reviews, so the developer's track record is not established there.
