ConfigPort moves Joomla extension settings between sites

ConfigPort is a free Joomla extension for moving groups of extension settings between sites without rebuilding each configuration by hand.

ConfigPort exports and imports settings for Joomla components, plugins, modules and template styles between two sites.

This need arises when a team maintains separate development, staging and production sites, or repeats a similar setup for several clients. Joomla core provides administration screens for changing each extension's settings, but it does not provide a general, built-in way to bundle settings from many third-party extensions and apply them to another site. A template override changes frontend markup, not the underlying configuration. In practice, administrators either repeat the work manually, use database or full-site migration tools, or install an extension for the narrower configuration task. According to the listing, ConfigPort goes beyond those core screens by previewing additions, changes and removals, combining up to 1,000 items in one export, offering merge or replace choices, and saving snapshots for restores. It identifies items by their type rather than the source site's IDs.

That makes it relevant to agencies, developers and site owners with staging workflows or repeated Joomla builds. A single small site with few extensions, or a site that is migrated wholesale rather than configured selectively, may have little use for it.

The listing places ConfigPort by Abhishek Das in the Data Import & Export section and says it is free under GPLv2 or later. The developer has 11 other directory entries, while ConfigPort has no reviews. Before installing, check which extensions and setting types it actually handles, how it deals with incompatible or changed extension schemas, and whether sensitive values need special treatment; the listing says password-like values are excluded unless included. It also leaves the exact supported extension list, backup storage details and operational limits unclear. The claimed Joomla 3.10, 4.4, 5.4 and 6 support should be checked against the target sites. We have not tested it.
