DLS Gallery builds image and video albums in Joomla
DLS Gallery is a paid Joomla extension for organising images and videos into albums and displaying them in configurable galleries.
Joomla can already store and manage media through its Media component, and articles can display images or embedded video. A site can also use a template override to turn article or category output into a gallery-like layout. That approach becomes less convenient when editors need albums, per-image metadata, ordering, video posters and a consistent lightbox without building the data model themselves.
According to the listing, DLS Gallery goes beyond those core facilities by providing dedicated photo and video albums, back-end uploads with chunking for large files, imports from images/, and fields for titles, alt text and captions. It also supplies gallery layouts, pagination or infinite scrolling, and lightbox controls. Those are presentation and editorial tools Joomla core does not provide as one gallery system.
It is aimed at photographers, clubs, event sites, publishers and organisations that regularly maintain multiple albums or need editors to manage gallery content separately from articles. A small brochure site with a handful of images, or a team happy to place media manually in articles, has little reason to add it.
This is a paid download, while the developer says a separate free Lite edition exists. The directory lists Dominik Lehner as the developer and shows nine other extensions, but DLS Gallery has no reviews. Before buying, check the price, support arrangements, documentation and the exact meaning of the listed included extensions. The listing states Joomla 5 and 6 compatibility, but does not spell out server requirements, migration details beyond Lite, or limits on album size and video formats.
