Joomla frontend article forms can be narrowed per menu item

Joomla sites run into this need when contributors should submit articles without seeing every option available to administrators or experienced editors. Core Joomla already provides frontend article creation and editing through Create Article, Category List and Category Blog menu items, with permissions controlling who can create or edit content. It also supplies the standard fields, tabs and article settings. A template override can change the form’s markup and presentation, but maintaining different field selections for different submission routes generally means custom development or another extension. According to the listing, Article Form Builder adds administrator-managed profiles, drag-and-drop field ordering, tab selection and menu-item assignment. It also goes beyond merely hiding fields: omitted fields are removed from the save request, and the listing says hidden values can be enforced on the server.

This is aimed at sites with several contributor workflows: a news desk needing title, text and image, a vacancies form with different fields, or a team that wants category and publishing choices constrained. It is less relevant to a site with only administrator editors, a single simple submission form, or no need to customise Joomla’s standard frontend form. The administrator article form is not changed.

The listing describes a base package and additional PRO features, including columns, hidden fields, custom fields and extra defaults, but does not state whether either tier is free or paid, nor give pricing or licence terms. Joomill has 26 other directory listings; this extension has no reviews. It specifies Joomla 5.4 or newer, Joomla 6 and PHP 8.1+, but leaves support terms, documentation depth and testing details unanswered.
