BounceLens checks Joomla form emails against disposable domains
BounceLens Email Check validates submitted email addresses in selected Joomla forms before they are accepted.
Email fields attract typos, disposable accounts and domains that cannot receive mail. Joomla core already handles basic field validation, including whether an address has the right format, while user management can reject addresses already in use and apply its own banned-address rules. A template override can change the form’s markup or messages, but it is not normally the right tool for domain and mailbox-policy checks.
This free download goes beyond those core checks by claiming to look up the submitted domain through the site’s DNS resolver, flag common provider typos, reject domains without usable mail service and identify disposable-email domains. It can also apply optional rules to shared inboxes and free providers. The listing says it can be enabled for registration, profile editing, contact forms and named custom fields, including fields using validate="bouncelens".
It is aimed at sites collecting registrations, enquiries or customer data where low-quality addresses create moderation work or unwanted mail. Teams with a lead-generation site, membership system or public contact form may have a reason to investigate it. A brochure site with no submissions, or a site happy to accept temporary and personal addresses, probably does not.
The listing identifies BounceLens Email Check as a free extension by Akshay C U in the Directory’s site security section. It shows no reviews, so it does not establish a directory track record for the developer. Before installing, check the stated Joomla 3.9/3.10 and 4.4, 5 and 6 builds against the site, and clarify how its domain lists, DNS timeouts and false positives are handled. The listing also says it cannot verify that an individual mailbox exists.
