Opus builds row-and-block sections inside Joomla modules
Opus is aimed at Joomla sites that need prebuilt visual sections without adopting a full page builder.
Its job is to let editors create structured page sections from rows, blocks and preset layouts inside a Joomla module.
This need exists because Joomla core provides the Custom HTML module, article editing, module positions and assignment rules, but it does not provide a visual row-and-block layout system for assembling reusable sections in a module. A template override can change how an existing article or module is rendered, though that is developer work rather than an editor-facing layout tool. A page builder is the usual extension-based answer when users need drag-and-drop composition. According to the listing, Opus goes beyond core by offering 22 layouts, fields for headings, images, buttons and other elements, per-module classes and custom CSS, while storing layout choices rather than template styling.
It is for Joomla 6 sites with editors who need repeatable sections such as cards, FAQs, timelines or pricing blocks, especially teams that want the template to control the visual design. It has little to offer a simple blog using articles and a few custom HTML modules, a site already committed to a page builder, or a site that cannot run Joomla 6 and PHP 8.3.
Opus is listed as a free download under GPL v2 or later. The developer is POUSSIN Cyrille; the directory shows two other extensions from the developer, but Opus has no reviews. Before installing, check how the listed demo, documentation and support links translate into ongoing support, and test the output with the intended template, accessibility requirements and content workflow. The listing does not explain migration or export options, update policy, or how layouts behave with templates outside its stated examples.
