Three-level article layouts for Joomla news front pages

It displays selected Joomla articles in a three-level layout, with separate settings for the main, secondary and tertiary items.

This job comes up because Joomla sites often need a front page that gives one story more space than the next group, rather than presenting every article in the same category-blog grid. Joomla core already provides Articles, categories, Featured Articles, category blog and list layouts, plus modules such as Latest Articles and Articles Category. Those tools cover selecting content and showing common fields such as titles, images, text, dates and authors. A template override can then change the markup and styling. A developer may also combine several core modules to build a layered front page.

According to the listing, Newsmax News Pro goes beyond that arrangement by putting three article levels and their controls in one module. It also claims automatic thumbnails, fallback images, external image sources, and optional fields including ratings and comment counts. Those last fields may depend on the site's wider Joomla setup or other extensions; the listing does not explain the integrations.

It is aimed at publishers, editorial teams and site builders creating a magazine-style front page from one or more categories or selected articles. A small site with a simple blog layout, or a team comfortable with core modules and a template override, has little reason to add it.

The directory marks it as a paid download, with GPLv2 or later licensing, and lists Joomla 5 and 6 compatibility. Trey Braid has seven other extensions shown in the directory, but this listing has no reviews. Check the price, update and support terms, documentation, and how ratings, comments and remote images are handled before installing; documentation is marked unavailable.
