Joomla 6.2 Beta 3 locks features ahead of release candidate
The Joomla project has published 6.2 Beta 3, moving Joomla 6.2 into feature freeze and giving site owners and extension developers a final testing window before the planned stable release.
6.2 Beta 3 is intended for testing only and should not be installed on production sites. The release gives extension developers a basis for checking compatibility, while users can try the features already planned for Joomla 6.2 and report problems before general availability.
No new features are expected from this point. The project says functionality for future development can instead be contributed to 6.3. The next scheduled milestone is Release Candidate 1 on 29 September 2026, followed by the Joomla 6.2 stable release on or about 13th October 2026. Dates may change.
The beta includes several maintenance and developer-facing changes:

Developers are encouraged to test their extensions against the beta and report bugs through the Joomla issue tracker. Nightly builds and a free test site through launch.joomla.org are also available for those who want to follow ongoing changes.
