FormBuilder sends Joomla form submissions to a hosted service

Joomla sites need forms for more than simple contact requests: registrations, feedback, enquiries and file collection often need their own fields, storage and processing. Core Joomla includes the Contacts component and its contact form, but it is not a general-purpose form builder or a hosted submission-management system. A template override can alter the presentation of a core form, while extensions are commonly used for conditional fields, uploads, workflow or external storage.

According to the listing, this free GPL extension goes beyond the core by connecting Joomla to a separately hosted FormBuilder account. Its site module lets an administrator select a hosted form and set its position, menu assignments, access level, button title and height. The form is loaded from the service, and responses and uploaded files stay there rather than in Joomla. The package also includes a required AJAX plugin and stores an encrypted, read-only forms API key for each module connection.

It is aimed at a site team already using FormBuilder, or one that wants form administration and submitted files kept outside its Joomla installation. A site needing only Joomla’s standard contact form, or wanting all submissions in its own database, has little reason to install it.

Check the separate service account, plan limits and pricing: the extension is free, but FormBuilder has a free plan and optional paid plans, and payment-enabled forms are excluded.
