JCH SwiftSlider keeps the first hero slide in initial HTML

The job is to display a rotating, responsive banner with text, links and calls to action, while controlling which image resources load first.

This comes up because Joomla sites often use a prominent homepage or campaign banner, but Joomla core does not provide a general-purpose slideshow module with slide ordering, transitions, autoplay and per-slide calls to action. Core can store and serve media through the Media Manager, and a custom module or article can output a static image and link. A template override can change the markup and styling of an existing module, but it does not by itself provide a slide editor or an image-derivative pipeline. The developer says SwiftSlider goes beyond that baseline with a server-rendered first slide, responsive image variants, WebP and AVIF output, lazy-loading choices, focal-point mobile cropping and layout-shift reservations. Those performance and editing features are the reason to use an extension rather than assemble a simple banner from core tools.

It is aimed at agencies, publishers, shops, campaign sites and business websites that need a managed hero slider with different desktop and mobile image treatment. A site with one fixed banner, a text-led homepage, or a team already comfortable building a custom module has little reason to install it.

Before installing, note that the listing does not say whether JCH SwiftSlider is free or paid, and it does not state which Joomla versions it supports. It is listed under slideshow and is developed by Samuel Marshall; the page shows two other extensions from the developer, but no reviews for this one. Check the cost and terms of the JCH Optimize Image Optimization API, server requirements, generated-file storage, update and support arrangements, and how its accessibility and reduced-motion claims behave with your template.
